Tata lives in Guaynabo, and takes care of her handicapped sister. When the hurricane hit, everyday chores became a struggle. The storm had caused a tree to come down on her property and her roof was leaking throughout the entire home. Things were bleak for Tata, even more so when she received news from the city that they couldn’t offer her any help. NECHAMA often provides help to residents who may have been overlooked in the aftermath of a disaster, or who were not provided with the help that they needed.

Our teams were able to cut and remove the tree, and make repairs to her damaged roof. We are happy to report that Tata and her sister are once again comfortable in their home. We are striving to help as many people, in situations similar to Tata’s, as we can.
