NECHAMA – Jewish Response to Disaster Deploying to Midland and Isabella Counties

Two Week Deployment Focuses on Assisting Flood Survivors

MIDLAND, Mich., August 3, 2017 – Following the torrential rains in June that flooded communities across Midland and Isabella counties, St. Louis Park, MN-based NECHAMA – Jewish Response to Disaster has deployed into the region for two weeks to assist survivors. On the ground, operations will begin on August 3, and continue through August 17.

NECHAMA will be providing much-needed assistance to survivors as they begin to recover from the floods. Efforts will be focused on removing flood debris and other damaged items from homes, while also gutting walls and other areas that have been impacted by the flood.

“We are honored to have been asked to assist this community,” said David Kaplan, Executive Director of NECHAMA. “NECHAMA is rooted in the value of Tikkun Olam – repairing the world through acts of kindness – and we look forward to engaging in this work over the next two weeks, assisting survivors, and helping to repair this resilient and inspiring community.”
