NECHAMA is closely monitoring weather along the Gulf Coast. Within the past few hours, the storm has strengthened into a Tropical Storm Barry, and could become a hurricane by late Friday.

Louisiana has already felt the impacts of this storm, with 6-9 inches of rainfall in the last 24 hours, flooding has occurred throughout the state including in New Orleans. There are mandatory evacuations in effect throughout the state, affecting nearly 10,000 people.

We will continue to monitor this storm and connect with local and national partners as we prepare for a potential deployment to assist those affected.

Further updates will be available on our project page.
