Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones in the U.S. and the Caribbean in Hurricane Laura's aftermath.
We continue to monitor the needs of the communities impacted by Hurricane Laura, now a Category 1 storm, as it continues along her path inland. Warning in effect for Arkansas.
Louisiana suffered the worst wind force in 164 years, destroying high rises, hotels, and homes, tearing off roofs, and blowing out windows. Floodwaters swamped low lying homes near the coast. As the roads are cleared, more assessments will be available.
