AmeriCorps members chose to commit to service for anywhere from three months to a year. We currently have nine AmeriCorps members serving onsite in Puerto Rico for a 10-week assignment. Stephen Komar, the leader of the AmeriCorps team, says this is the team’s favorite assignment in their year of service, “It’s hard work, but when you are working on a project, you can see the immediate impact on the family living in the home.”
