As Hanukkah approaches and we are near the end of 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on all that NECHAMA has accomplished this year, with great thanks to our volunteers and supporters.

This year, NECHAMA has:

  • Responded to floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes across five states: Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and North Carolina.

  • Provided critical relief, including delivering 2,000 meals in the immediate aftermath of disasters and completing 1,600 case management calls through Crisis Cleanup.

  • Logged 2,723 hard earned volunteer hours through “mucking and gutting” homes, removing debris from properties, providing mold remediation treatments - ensuring that victims of disasters can start recovering their lives as soon as possible.

  • Maximized our impact by partnering with dozens of disaster relief and volunteer organizations, across a wide range of faiths and social causes.

  • Expanded our team to four full-time staff and two team leads in North Carolina, with more team members to be announced soon!

  • These milestones reflect the heart of NECHAMA: Bringing comfort, hope, and healing through Tikkun Olam.
