Oklahoma Tornado Response

Since April 26, 2024, well over 100 tornadoes hit the Midwest, with over 30 impacting Oklahoma. NECHAMA mobilized an emergency response, deploying to Holdenville in South Oklahoma and then redeploying to Barnesville in Northeastern Oklahoma. We focused on debris and brush removal to help homeowners begin the process of recovery, aiding 11 families in debris removal and completing 19 assessments for future recovery efforts.

NECHAMA extended special gratitude to the Jewish Federation of Tulsa and the Jewish Federation of Greater Oklahoma City, as well as the synagogues in those communities, who helped mobilize volunteers.
