Gett'in In The Safety Zone....
Minneapolis, MN - Safety for disaster volunteers is a primary concern for Nechama. With the addition of new board member Phil Jacobs, the organization has taking a huge step forward in focusing on safety and health issues in the field. Phil is an industrial ergonomics expert and consults to his clients primarily on OSHA and other federal and state regulatory issues pertaining to health and safety in the workplace. He brings this key expertise to Nechama, and will help ensure that the organization does its best to protect volunteers on deployments. He is also active with the Minnesota Safety Council and arranged for Nechama to display its trailer, truck and equipment to the public. The response was overwhelming as hundreds of people filed by the Nechama display over the two day conference. Perry Witkin, President gave a presentation showcasing Nechama to about 100 participants at a breakout session. Thank you Phil Jacobs for arranging this most valuable event.
Gene, Ken, Perry and Michael display Nechama's trailer and equipment, and talk with safety consultants at the Minnesota Safety & Health Conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
