Waupun, WI - Nechama responded in June 2004 to tornados and damaging winds that swept through eastern Wisconsin. The town of Waupun, 60 miles northeast of Madison, took a direct hit from an F3 tornado that left a path of destruction. Nechama volunteers and equipment were on the scene to begin the cleanup. The Nechama crew worked with local volunteers to clean up city parks and cut up large trees downed by the storm. About 300 homes were assisted with tree cutting and shredding of tree limbs and debris. Nechama was in Waupun for four days assisting residents and loaning needed equipment and supplies to the public works department.
Ken Streiff and Pat Bresnahan lead the Nechama team in clearing fallen trees and brush. A Waupun family gets a hand in helping put their home back together.
