Austin, MN - Nechama volunteers took on the fierce after-effects of torential rain that went through Austin, MN and surrounding five-county area. About 2000 homeowners reported flood damage which sparked a large inflow of disaster volunteers and equipment. Nechama was on the scene from the day after the flooding and has maintained a presence for the past two weeks. Volunteers are rotating in and out of the area and sharing equipment assets with local volunteers. Nechama has teamed with American Baptist Disaster Relief and Methodist Disaster Response to work on the cleanup.
